The Work

We are seeking a capable, experienced Private Client solicitor to lead our highly regarded Private Client team.

Essentially, the ideal candidate will bring balance to the role on three main fronts; management and development of the team, management and development of the Company’s client base and fee earning work. The balance is therefore between ‘technical’, commercial and interpersonal skills.

We are keen to find a senior individual at Associate or Partner level to join (ideally) the Sherborne office to work alongside the management team and to consolidate and develop the Company’s Private Client offering. There is no reason why, in the fullness of time, the Head of Private Client should not become part of the senior management team for the Company as a whole.

Clearly therefore this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and capable Private Client Lawyer.

Profile

• An experienced Private Client Solicitor with a good range of technical expertise in the areas of Wills, Trusts, Tax and Probate.
• Currently managing at least a small team.
• A hardworking individual who is prepared to put in the effort required for success and has the ambition to become a senior figure in Battens in the fullness of time.
• Comfortable with Client development, business development and general marketing activities.
• If currently based in the ‘local’ market they will ideally be able to bring contacts and a following with them, although this is not a pre-requisite.
• Able to cross-fertilize business with other areas of the Company.
